Come on Home: Sunday 19th June 2011

We are so incredibly sorry for the false-start we had with our inaugral Home Festival several weeks ago.

Our first attempt to deliver our beloved Home Festival got washed out by 2 days of unseasonable consistent heavy rain on the 7th and 8th April. Brisbane City Council instructed us that we were not to go ahead with the event due to inevitable damage trucks delivering all our infrastructure including portaloos, staging and the bar setup would cause to the beautiful festival site, Raymond Park.  The wrecking of our common ground, our Home for the day, Raymond Park, didn't sit well with any of us.

Hence, the decision to postpone Home Festival.  We'd be really grateful if you could add our new, cool, chilled-out, feel-good, down-to-earth and very welcoming date of SUNDAY 19th JUNE to your calendar.

Should Mother Nature decide to downpour again we'll have a watertight wet-weather plan in place that we'll be able to unwravel seamlessly and that won't impact destructively on Raymond Park.  So there'll be no more postponing for us.  We're going to build Home on SUNDAY 19th JUNE

The best way to read about the most up-to-date information around Home Festival is to 'like' us on Facebook here-http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/pages/Home-Festival-Brisbane/118807301520657

We've done the hard yards.......we've locked in the brilliant performers; we've selected some of the best workshop ideas you're ever going to find; we've sorted delicious food; we've harnessed awesome local refreshments for our bar; we've discovered the meaning of one man's trash is another man's treasure by gathering a doozy amount recycled items for you to come and unleash your cubby-house building skills.

I heard a song on the radio the other day and some of the lyrics were "Home is when I'm with you."

Let's all meet at Raymond Park on Sunday 19th June and celebrate what home means to you.

Home Festival postponed. New date announced soon!

Bog-blog

The Home Festival was postponed due to unsafe site conditions as a result of consistent wet weather during the week leading up to the 9th April. We are sorry to disappoint those of you who were so looking forward to event last week. We thank you for your understanding. On the plus side, it will still be there on a date to be released soon, possibly bigger, definitely better. Please spread the word.
